Anupama 8th September 2024 written update: Ganesh Chaturthi Special

The episode begins with Anuj and Anupama performing the tulsi puja along with Aadhya. During the puja, Anupama calls for their pet, Coffee, and asks Aadhya to feed him. Coffee arrives and starts eating the food, but Aadhya hesitates to get close. Sensing her hesitation, Anupama reassures Aadhya by explaining that animals can often be more trustworthy than strangers, as they are very loyal. Aadhya gathers her courage and introduces herself to Coffee, saying, “Hello Coffee, I’m Aadhya.” She reminisces about how she used to feed a dog near her home and how Coffee has now become her new friend.

Anupama then encourages Aadhya to put out food for the birds. Curious, Aadhya asks if the birds understand them. Anuj smiles and says they do, joking that if they throw away the food, her mother would scold them. Aadhya carefully leaves food for the birds. They hear a cow, Kaveri, making a sound, and Anupama asks Aadhya to give breakfast to Kaveri as well. Aadhya, with a little hesitation, feeds grass to the cow with her hands. Anupama explains that cows are called “Gau Mata” because they care for their families just like a mother does. She adds that a cow’s milk is considered sacred, and even cow urine and dung have medicinal and antibacterial properties. Aadhya proudly says, “You taught me all this.” Anuj, hearing this, laughs and admits he forgot to teach her such things. Anupama says it’s their responsibility to teach their daughter everything they know, and both parents should share this role.

In another part of the house, Baa is speaking to a photo of Vanraj, her son. She is worried, expressing how many days have passed without hearing from him. Titu and Kinjal try to console her. Baa sighs, saying she has no idea how he is doing. Meanwhile, Toshu walks into the room, dancing to some music, and takes a sip of juice before asking the servant for some fresh orange juice. He shares his frustrations, explaining that being the head of the family is stressful and has kept him up at night. Toshu adds that if he doesn’t handle things, no one else will. He then excitedly tells Baa to make curry pakodas, as Vanraj never liked them and now they can finally be made in the house. The kids watch Toshu with amusement as Baa begins playing a bhajan. Toshu, hearing the devotional music, quietly leaves the room. Baa remarks that she is still his father’s mother, and the children burst into laughter.

Anupama asks Aadhya to perform the aarti, but Aadhya feels nervous, worried she might make a mistake and upset God. Anupama gently reassures her that God values devotion more than perfection. Babu ji and others also encourage Aadhya to go ahead. Taking a deep breath, Aadhya performs the aarti while a bhajan plays in the background. Afterward, she asks Anupama if they should bring home Lord Ganesha. Babu ji enthusiastically agrees, saying it seems like Ganesha himself wants to come. Bala and Indra offer to bring the idol. Anuj fondly remembers how he and GK used to bring the idol every year and mentions that he even made it himself sometimes. He promises Aadhya that they will bring the idol together this time as well. However, Aadhya expresses concern that the Shah family might not be able to join them because Toshu has refused to let her go. Anuj confidently assures her that Anupama will take care of everything.

Later, Anuj tells Anupama how relieved he feels to see Aadhya recovering from her trauma. Anupama acknowledges the difficult six years Aadhya endured, saying childhood trauma is not easy to forget, but they will support her through it. Anuj admits he worries about her future, but Anupama encourages him to restart his business. She tells him that no one has as many great ideas as he does. Anuj confesses he wants to get back into business but is concerned about the financial side, as well as the need for connections and resources. They both agree to start working on making the idol for Ganesha’s arrival.

Meanwhile, Meenu and her friend are riding in Sagar’s auto, chatting about a handsome guy from their college. Her friend gets off, and Sagar, feeling a little jealous, expresses his dislike for the guy, even though they’ve never met. Meenu teasingly tells him that first impressions matter and looks often come before character. She adds that while a person’s heart may not change, looks can always be improved. This conversation leaves Sagar pondering about appearance and its importance.

Back at the house, Titu confronts Dimpy about her plans, asking where she’s headed. Dimpy drops a file, which Titu picks up, and realizes she is going to meet a builder. Dimpy explains that she doesn’t trust Toshu and fears he might take away Ansh’s rights. Toshu overhears this and sarcastically remarks that her suspicions are unfounded, but warns her that if she acts out of line, he will ensure she doesn’t get a penny. Dimpy, upset, confides in Titu, asking what they’ll do if Toshu takes away everything. Titu reassures her that they still have a house in Mumbai, but Dimpy insists she wants to stay where they are now.

Sagar, reflecting on Meenu’s words, begins to check his own appearance in the mirror. Bala notices and asks why he’s so focused on his looks. Sagar explains that he’s learned good looks matter more than having a good heart. Bala gives him some advice, saying that when you love someone, you should be willing to change for them. He adds that if his wife, Indra ji, asked him to shave his head, he would do it without question. Sagar, amused and grateful for Bala’s wisdom, thanks him.

In the final scene, Anupama and Anuj are preparing the clay for the Ganesha idol. As they mix water into the clay, their Radha Krishna lockets fall into the bucket. They each pick up the other’s locket, exchanging smiles. Anuj, feeling poetic, is lost in thought when Aadhya arrives and interrupts them, handing back their lockets. Excitedly, she asks if she can help make the idol. Anuj smiles and agrees. Together, they all leave their handprints in the clay, creating a beautiful family moment filled with joy and hope.
