Anupama 17th September 2024 written episode update highlights

Sagar’s Conflict:

Meanwhile, Sagar is sleeping and muttering that he loves Meenu sincerely, hoping she won’t be upset with him. Sagar wanted to express his feelings to her. Just then, Bala enters the room and locks the door, telling Sagar it’s 8 am and urging him to wake up. Bala questions why Sagar drove the auto all night, and Sagar admits he couldn’t sleep due to guilt. Bala reveals that Sagar was calling out Meenu’s name in his sleep and that’s why he locked the door. Sagar asks if he isn’t suitable for Meenu, and Bala explains that while he has given lectures on love, the reality is that society doesn’t accept relationships between the rich and the poor. Sagar insists he can’t forget Meenu, and Bala advises him to fight for his love and talk to Anupama about it. Sagar agrees to speak with Anudi and asks Dolly aunty to remain silent for now.

Dolly and Meenu’s Conflict:

Dolly questions Meenu about the need to clean the glass and then cleans her hands. She tells Meenu that, as her mother, she can’t bear to see her troubled and emphasizes that her education and career are what matter now. Meenu counters, asking about her own happiness. Dolly responds that poor guys see rich girls as a stroke of luck. Meenu reminds Dolly that she had once refused Sagar, but Meenu pursued him, and Dolly dismisses it as Sagar’s tactics, supposedly taught by Anupama. Meenu insists that her aunt didn’t know she liked Sagar. Anupama adds that Sagar seems to be planning a comfortable life on Meenu’s money. Meenu points out that Dolly raised her and she could only work because of her. She accuses Dolly of being selfish. Dolly warns her not to forget she is her mother and insists on marrying her off to a doctor.

Kinjal arrives and asks Meenu if she loves Sagar deeply. Meenu affirms her feelings, and Kinjal warns her that it won’t be easy. She advises Meenu to confide in Mummy, and if she supports her, it will be half the battle won.

Aadhya requests Mahi to fetch her books from the Shah house so she can teach her. Mahi agrees. Anupama reflects on how Choti had a special bond with children and used to care for them at the orphanage. She notes that her Choti, now older, is still lovely. Indra reassures her that everything will improve gradually. Nandita urges Anupama to agree to Anuj’s proposal. Bala approaches Anupama and asks if she can prepare South Indian food since it’s the Onam festival tomorrow. He shares that he misses his family but is grateful for their happiness even if he is away from them. He requests banana halwa, and Anupama promises to make it. Anuj messages Anupama about his job interview. She checks the time and realizes she needs to head to the nearby mall, so she heads out. Aadhya and Mahi wish her good luck, and Anupama thanks them.

At the interview, the interviewer expresses surprise that a big businessman like Anuj has come seeking a job. Anuj explains he’s there for employment, not to boast. The interviewer mentions hearing that Anuj lost his mental balance and was seen walking the streets as a sadhu, and that his company is now managed by Ankush Kapadia. Anuj confirms this and adds that his brother is ruining the company, but he will restore it. He insists he’s ready for any test or evaluation. The interviewer says it would be an honor for him to have Anuj work for his company, but he prefers an employee, not a boss, to keep company secrets safe. He declines the offer, and Anuj leaves feeling dejected.

Later, Anuj sits in a temple, feeling sad. Anupama arrives, throwing a paper rocket with the word “START” written on it. She explains she was at the mall and thought he would be here. Anuj asks about her work situation, and Anupama responds she might get a job. Anuj is delighted and suggests they start fresh. They begin walking together, and Anuj starts thinking about poetry.

Bala’s Onam Preparations:

The next day, Bala comes out of Asha Bhavan, planning to pray for everyone. He notices the festive floral decorations and rangoli. Everyone is dressed in South Indian attire. Bala inquires if they’re ready for the Onam festival, and Indra confirms they are. Bala wonders where Anuj and Anupama are, and Aadhya informs him they are still getting ready. Bala takes a selfie with Indra.

Baa and Kinjal get ready in South Indian outfits. Baa worries about Toshu’s reaction, but Kinjal insists they should celebrate the festival as Mummy invited them. She believes Toshu will improve only if he decides to change himself. Baa questions what they said to Toshu, and Kinjal admits they were angry but stands by her decision. She says they should go, and Baa agrees. Kinjal tells the kids to come along, and they leave.

Anupama and Anuj’s Support:

Anuj admires himself in the mirror, stylishly wearing his glasses. He notices Anupama, who is fixing her hair. He approaches her and signals that she looks beautiful. He applies kajal behind her ear, symbolizing the removal of bad luck, and Anupama does the same for him. They exchange compliments, with Anuj praising Anupama’s beauty and she reciprocating the praise. Aadhya calls, announcing she has made rava laddoo. Anuj teases Anupama about making people fall for her while pretending to be innocent and recites poetry. Anupama responds she’ll be there soon. Anuj says he has waited before and will wait again.
